Update notes
What changed in Pixel Jump, newest first.
A guide to the game
· version 1.23.1
- New: a guide with a page for each part of the game (biomes, Pixels, power-ups, the boss, co-op and tips), and these update notes.
- Fixed: after opening About or Privacy from the installed app, playing offline could show that page instead of the game.
Today's top 10
· version 1.23.0
- A daily leaderboard: the ten highest solo climbs on the day's layout. A run that makes the board asks for a name on the run card, and Records shows the board.
Android: play in the browser
· version 1.22.0
- On Android, installing the game is now a suggestion. PLAY IN BROWSER closes the card for a week, and INSTALL APP on the menu brings it back.
- The game asks for full screen when you start a run in an Android browser.
Smoother on every screen
· version 1.21.3
- The scenery behind the game is drawn a new way and no longer stutters. Slow devices get a simpler backdrop by themselves.
- The game as it was before this round of changes stays playable at old.pixeljump.online, with its own separate save.
New menus
· version 1.21.0
- Every menu has been redrawn in one style, with drawn icons in place of emoji.
- Picking up a power-up while one is running now gives you a different one.
- A banner crosses the screen when you enter a new biome.
The menu is the first screen
· version 1.20.0
- The scene behind the menu is the real start of your next run. Pressing start carries straight on from it.
A livelier early game
· version 1.19.0
- New platforms: springs, crumbling platforms, and sliding platforms from 150m.
- Trails of small gems arc between platforms.
- Heights are called out as you pass them, and a picture tutorial shows the controls.
- Hearts can be found in the level whenever you have fewer than three.
A scene for every biome
· version 1.18.0
- Each of the eight biomes has its own sky and scenery, the platforms have designs, and the backdrop fills the whole window.
Game feel
· version 1.17.0
- Your Pixel squashes, stretches and blinks. Landings kick up dust, pickups pop, and big hits shake the screen. Reduced Motion turns it down.
Pixel of the Hour
· version 1.16.0
- Twenty-four patterned Pixels, one on offer each hour.
About and privacy pages
· version 1.14.2
- A how-to-play page and a privacy policy, linked from the menu.
Slow-motion falls
· version 1.13.0
- A fall ends in a slow-motion shatter.
- Co-op shows the TEAM LIMIT line the leader can't climb past.
- Platforms and Pixels have rounded corners.
Touch controls in one bar
· version 1.12.0
- The touch buttons sit in a single bar along the bottom.
- Fixed on iPhone: the page no longer scrolls during play, and left no longer sticks.
A new home: pixeljump.online
· version 1.11.0
- The game moved to pixeljump.online, and saves from the old address are carried across.
- Co-op uses a relay server when a direct connection is blocked, so parties work on school and office networks.
Full-screen phones
· version 1.9.0
- Phones play full screen under a slim score strip, and tall screens show more sky.
- Platforms are a little further apart.
Hearts and biome gems
· version 1.8.0
- Extra lives became hearts, bought in the shop and banked between runs.
- Gems are worth more in every higher biome.
- The ghost replays your previous run of the day.
- New jump and death sounds.
